Staying on the leading edge of collision repair is a major part of Chief’s business. Keeping our network of distributors and customers in contact with these innovations is all part of the daily job for Fernando Rubio. Fernando (Chief Customer Service Supervisor) leads a team of very talented individuals who ensure customers get the best level of service. When you call in and get Fernando or his team, tell them we sent you for some first class attention.
Q: How long have you been with Chief?
Fernando: I have been with VSG just shy of 20 years and recently transferred to Chief in February of 2017. I enjoy learning about the collision industry and staying up to date on all of our new products and services.
Q: What do you enjoy about your job?
Fernando: I love the people and the willingness to genuinely assist and go the extra step. Each day everyone greets by saying "Good morning!" and in evening, saying; "Have a good rest of the day." I look forward to learning something new each day.
Q: What is one of the biggest challenges to your job?
Fernando: Your working responsibilities overlap into many areas, it’s not just customer services; you are also involved in planning, scheduling, credit, shipping, quality issues, and much more. Wearing many hats is a must!
Q: In your work or personal life, what are you most proud of?
Fernando: I am very proud of my family being able to Naturalize into the USA and having been able to live the American dream. At work, I am very proud of my contributions and tenure here at Chief.
Q: What is one fun fact about you that people may not know?
Fernando: You should come to one of my drum circles and find out. I dislike redundant rules,….oh yeah……and I believe in global warming.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?
Fernando: Family time, friendships, grilling, bowling, fly-fishing, drum circle facilitation, time with nature, motorcycling, watching movies, love a good joke, mess around in a wood shop, working with hand tools, animals, avoid rules.
Q: Are you a music person or a sports person?
Fernando: It all depends on the mood!
Q: What product in Chief’s full line do you think is the most interesting or has the most to offer to the customer? Why?
Fernando: Well – I look at it as not being able to have one without the other. You cannot have a shop with a rack, and no method to measure your repairs -or- vice versa. So, if I had my own shop; I would begin with the Impulse E/VHT with a Laserlock Alignment. This would allow me to offer frame straightening services as well as alignment services all in one location.
