Posted by Chief Automotive on May 31, 2017 4:43:00 PM

Lasers, a few years back we only saw them in movies like Star Wars, but today they are more and more a part of our everyday lives. Whether used in the medical field to cure eye issues or in law enforcement to catch a lead footed driver, they have become pretty common. However, their technology is still pretty complex and the people that work with them have to be on the cutting edge. Chief's LaserLock™ Measuring Cabinet is no different, and Michael Turner, our resident LaserLock guru fits the description pretty well.

Michael is the builder of the the LaserLock machines, and we couldn't ask for a better man for the job. So let us take a few minutes to get to the guy that makes the LaserLock so great.

Power Behind the Pull-Bryan Brown

Posted by Chief Automotive on Dec 1, 2016 4:30:00 PM

Metal working is one of the world’s oldest professions. A blacksmith has always been one of the most skilled craftsman throughout the ages. They relied on primitive tools like hammers and fire to shape and meld metals. Fast forward to present time and those that work with metals are still very skilled, however their tools are anything but primitive. Many of the tools used in metal working today are cutting edge and constantly evolving, with welders being no exception.

With today’s welders looking more like something out of the Starship Enterprise than a body shop, it is difficult to keep up with all the changes and technologies. At Chief, Bryan Brown is the resident welder “guru” and is the go-to guy for all metal joining questions. Bryan works with a stellar team to keep our customer’s equipment running smooth and efficiently. So let’s take a few minutes to meet the guy that helps keep your shop from having a “melt” down. (okay, we are reaching on that pun)

Power Behind the Pull: Lee Daugherty

Posted by Chief Automotive on Jul 15, 2016 4:10:49 PM

What should the distance be between the frame rails on a 2007 Toyota Camry? What degree of bend is in the front cross members on a Tesla Model 3? Very few people would know that information, or even where to find it. Luckily, for the body shops that are equipped with Chief measuring products, we have ensured that info is at their fingertips. As numerous car manufacturers around the world design and produce new models, Chief works tirelessly to ensure we have the data that shops need in order to make the correct repairs. Gathering the data from the manufacturers can be a daunting task, but one that is vital to our customers. Lee Daugherty, Chief's Global Data Product Manager, is in charge of the process and knows how important up-to-date specifications are to the body shops that rely on them.

Today we talk a little more with Lee and learn more about the man who keeps the specs in the hands of our customers.
